How much money does Doris Burke make as an NBA analyst for ESPN?

The 59-year-old New Yorker appears on both ESPN and ABC networks and is one of the NBA’s most high profile and respected analysts.

Doris Burke’s dulcet tones are synonymous with the game of basketball and the 59-year-old is now widely regarded as one of the most authoritative voices on the sport.

The West Islip (NY State) native developed a love for the game playing college basketball for Providence Friars and she finished her career as the school’s leader in assists.

Upon leaving college she moved into the world of broadcasting initially starting as an analyst for her college games on local radio. In 1990, she was involved in the same capacity but in the medium of television working on Big East Women’s games and in 1996 she began working Big East men’s games.

In the early 90s Burke began her professional relationship with ESPN and was a key part of the network’s coverage of the WNBA and in parallel she was the key anchor for the New York Liberty team and in 2000 she became the first female commentator to call a New York Knicks game on radio and television.

In 2003, she was named to ESPN’s men’s college basketball coverage working with Dick Vitale and began working the sidelines for ESPN and ABC for their coverage of the NBA beginning with the 2003–04 NBA season.

In 2023, ESPN named Burke to their No. 1 NBA commentary team and she became the first woman to serve as a game analyst on television for a championship final (the 2024 NBA Finals between Boston and Dallas).

According to specialist portal ‘Celebritynetworth.com’, the 59-year-old has a net worth of $4 million which is propped up by her reported annual ESPN salary of one million dollars.

Burke hit the headlines back in 2016 when Canadian rapper Drake wore a sweatshirt bearing her image accompanied by the message ‘woman crush every day’. Burke later replied to the rapper’s request for an evening hook-up replying ‘Drake, dinner is on’.

In the current NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics are heading towards a historic 18th Championship title as they lead Dallas Mavericks 3-0 in the best of seven series.

Game 4 is scheduled for the American Airlines Centre (Dallas) on 14 June (Friday) with a 8:30 pm (ET) tip-off time.
