After Caitlin Clark was drafted into the WNBA by the Indiana Fever back in April, aspirations and expectations were sky high. Things on the court for the team and the 22-year-old got off to a sluggish start as they lost their opening five games with the Iowa native getting off to a poor start compared to the level of expectation thrust on her young shoulders.

The no. 1 Draft picks period of adaptation is now just a distant memory as she continues to make more history with the Indiana Fever who, following Wednesday’s win over LA Sparks, confirmed their place in the 2024 WNBA season playoffs with six games of the regular season outstanding.

The Fever will be one of the eight teams who progres to the playoffs with the first round of the playoffs set to feature four three-game series with first playing eights, second vs. seventh.... with a homecourt pattern of 2–1 (the higher seed hosts games 1 and 2, while the lower seed hosts game 3, if needed so there is still an incentive for the Fever to try and secure a berth in the top four of the standings.

Fever too strong for Sparks

In front of another packed house in Indianapolis on Wednesday, Caitlin Clark bagged 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for her second career triple-double, lifting the Indiana Fever to a 93-86 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.

Clark sank four 3-pointers and added three steals on a day in which she was named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for August and the league’s rookie of the month.

The win sees Indiana securing a tenth win from their past 11 home games and the Fever are a team with massive momentum and a serious postseason force to be reckoned with.

Having failed to advance to the playoffs since 2016, Clark’s impact on the team has been nothing short of incredible with their 18-16 season record to date a long way from 2023′s overall balance of just 13 wins and 27 losses in 40 regular season games.
