Injured Anthony Davis ruled out for Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks will be without the ten-time NBA All-Star for Saturday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, and possibly beyond.

The Dallas Mavericks will be without Anthony Davis for at least two games after the veteran star picked up a calf injury against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
On Friday the team announced that Davis had been diagnosed with a low grade left calf strain after an MRI. The 32-year-old will still travel with the team to Mexico City this weekend, where the Mavs will play the Detroit Pistons and the Houston Rockets for the NBA Mexico City Game.

“It is going to be day to day,” Davis said of his recovery process. “But I feel better that is for sure.”
Davis will be re-evaluated once the team has returned to Dallas after the weekend’s games but it’s not yet clear if he will be fit to play immediately. The ten-time NBA All-Star has suffered injuries throughout his career and missed an 18-game run down the stretch for the Mavs shortly after being traded to Dallas last season.
Regardless of his recovery time, Davis will definitely miss the opportunity to play in the fourth consecutive year of NBA games south of the border. The Mexico City Game is one of seven international showcases on the schedule this season.
This is the calendar for the 2025/26 international games: NBA Abu Dhabi Games (Oct. 2 & 4), NBA x NBL Melbourne Series (Oct. 3 & 5), NBA Canada Series (Oct. 6), NBA China Games (Oct. 10 & 12), NBA Mexico City Game (Nov. 1 & 2) NBA Berlin Game (Jan. 15) and NBA London Game (Jan. 18).
This year is the fourth time that Dallas have played a regular season game in Mexico City. They met the Pistons in Mexico back in December 2019, recording a 122-111 victory. The only player remaining from that game six years ago is Dallas center Dwight Powell.
