The 34-year-old will stay in LA to play with the Clippers as he finishes his buyout from the Utah Jazz.
The Russell Westbrook saga with the city of Los Angeles is not over. The PG, according to ESPN, is finalizing negotiations with the Los Angeles Clippers. The future Hall of Famer and once league MVP still has a lot of basketball to give.
Westbrook signed with the Lakers on a deal that many criticized because the team already had LeBron James and Antony Davis, two players that always need the ball in their hands, this wouldn’t work well with Westbrook style; the rotation wasn’t going to be easy.

Westbrook and the Utah Jazz are on the verge of completing a buyout on the remaining $47 million owed on his expiring deal. Russ will navigate the waivers easily and complete his move to LA but for the Clippers.
Ty Lue, the Clippers coach, was very interested in bringing the ex-lakers player to the team because he wanted to use him for his toughness. Something the franchise is missing to be a title contender team. Right now, the team has Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. With Westbrook, the team will add rebounds and assists.
Westbrook had other deals on the table and chose the Clippers
According to ESPN, Russ had offers from teams like the Bulls and the Miami Heat. However, experts believed that the best option for the PG was to go to Miami because they needed a superstar.
Now Westbrook doesn’t have to move away too far.
