Golden State Warriors fans might be up for some good news soon- Steph Curry could be ready to join the team for practice this week, as he is reportedly making good progress on rehabilitating his left foot.

Curry sustained a sprained ligament and bone bruise in their 110-88 loss against the Boston Celtics on March 16, after Celtics guard Marcus Smart lunged for a loose ball and rolled on his leg.

Curry has been sidelined for the team’s final twelve games in the regular NBA season.

The Warriors say the 34-year-old has been engaged in individual on-court activities such as running and shooting the past week, and could join full team training this week.

However, the team has also said that his status for this weekend’s game is yet to be determined and will depend on how well his recovery continues.

The Warriors need Steph Curry’s numbers

The team will be needing Curry’s services as they head into the playoffs. He wrapped up the regular season with 25.5 points per game, 6.3 assists, and 5.2 rebounds. Guards Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson as well as power forward Draymond Green have taken up the slack in the absence of the two-time NBA MVP.

The Warriors are scheduled to go up in Game 1 against the Denver Nuggets in the opening round of the playoffs on Saturday.

Golden State will appear in the playoffs for the first time since they lost the NBA championship to the Toronto Raptors in 2019.
