Jason Kidd lauds Doncic for record-breaking performance

Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd recognizes Luka Doncic as one of the NBA players who creates history after his triple-double 60-21-10 performance.

“The history of the game is written by the players. And it was written again tonight.”

Those were the words of Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd after Luka Doncic achieved a feat never before achieved in NBA history. He posted the first-ever 60-21-10 game in NBA history while improving his own career high in both points and rebounds.

Luka Doncic making history

While creating this incredible new record, Doncic surpassed Wilt Chamberlain as the youngest player ever to record a 50-point triple-double and joined he and Elgin Baylor as the only players to ever do so with 20+ rebounds.

“For a player, Luka, doing something that’s never been done before. It’s hard to do,” said Kidd. “There were great players before him. I think he was next to [Elgin] Baylor and Wilt [Chamberlain]. He was in that class, and then he separated himself. He made his own class, which is pretty cool.”

Doncic: “It’s incredible to be in comparisons with those guys”

Kidd praised Doncic for his competitiveness and motivation to win. At just 23 years old, Doncic has already accomplished so much and Kidd knows how lucky the Mavericks are to have a player of his caliber on the team.
