During the NBA Summer League, it was reported that the New York Knicks were interested in acquiring Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell through a trade. Although an exchange didn’t materialize, the New York franchise is still looking to sign Spida.

According to a report by Shams Charania and Tony Jones, of The Athletic, the Knicks and the Jazz have resumed talks to finalize the exchange of the 25-year-old shooting guard. And the same report adds that the Charlotte Hornets and the Washington Wizards have also shown interest in acquiring Mitchell, a three-time All-Star.

In November 2020, Mitchell signed a five-year, $163 million contract extension with the Salt Lake City team. After a year with a new contract, the shooting guard will earn 134.9 million in the next four seasons regardless of whether he stays in Utah or ends up somewhere else.

The Jazz will look different next season after trading Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Royce On’Neale to the Brooklyn Nets. Also. Will Hardy will be the new head coach of the Utah franchise.
