Jokic had 30, 14, and 11 for his 22nd triple double of the year. With the win the Nuggets are now in a tie with the Thunder for the best record in the West. That is likely to be a three way race between Denver, Minnesota and OKC until the final day of the season.

NBA Standings
Taking a look at the standings in both conferences we see both of these teams hovering around the top of the table. While the Knicks chances for a one seed are long gone with the Celtics running away with the conference, there is a four team race for the two seed as the Magic, Knicks, Cavs and Bucks are all fighting for position. The Knicks are a half game above the Magic, but trail the Cavs by a game and a half and the Bucks by 2.5 games. The Nuggets still have a chance to earn their second straight one seed in the West, but currently trail the Thunder by a half game, while leading the Minnesota Timberwolves by a game after their win in Minnesota a couple days ago. It’s more than probable that both races are going to stay snug until the final days of the regular season.
Jokic rollin' deep
While the stars of the show get most of the love in the Mile High City, basketball fans who understand the game realize that it’s not just Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray who have had the Nuggets at the top of the NBA for the last year and a half. Michael Porter Jr. showed he can take a game over with his long range shooting last game, while Aaron Gordon is a mismatch nightmare for opposing defenses and just when you have those four accounted for, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope can put you to the sword. This is one of the most complete teams in the league, and that’s why they have a serious chance to go back to back after winning their first title in franchise history.
Brunson burning up
Jalen Brunson has been on a roll over the last three games, averaging over 40 points a game in the most important part of the Knicks season. New York has been without Julius Randle since late January which means it has been up to Brunson to carry the scoring load for the Knicks since then. In his second season with the Knicks he is averaging 27.6 points, and 6.4 rebounds and while he probably won’t win the MVP award this year, he has certainly earned some consideration for the award.
Nuggets last game
The Nuggets bounced back from a heart breaking buzzer beater loss to the Dallas Mavericks with a narrow win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in a game that could have big seeding implications once the playoffs come around. Denver led the T’Wolves until the last few minutes of the third quarter, but the lead went back and forth for the final fifteen minutes as Anthony Edwards led the comeback charge in the second half. Nikola Jokic and Michael Porter Jr. made sure the Nuggets avoided back to back losses with some big shots in the final quarter. Porter Jr. had 13 of his 26 points in the last 12 minutes as Jokic finished the game with 35 points and 16 rebounds.
Knicks last game
The Knicks continued their west coast road trip in San Francisco on Tuesday night and came up with a huge win over the Golden State Warriors to stretch their away win streak to five games. Jalen Brunson led the way with 34 points, and Josh Hart had a triple double as the Knicks went up early and kept a double digit lead for essentially the entire game. The Warriors cut the lead to four points, but weren’t able to stop the Knicks from going wire to wire from the Bay to secure their standings in the top four of the East.
We are live from Mile High
Hello everyone and welcome to Denver where the Nuggets have a quick pit stop back at Ball Arena after a five game road trip in which they won four games outside the Mile High City. They are aiming for a second straight one seed in their title defense season, but they are going to have to catchup to the Thunder while holding off the Timberwolves in the final stretch of the season. The Knicks don’t hav a chance for the one seed, but they are on track to get a top four spot and home court in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs, but they can target the two seed which would secure them home court until the Eastern Conference Finals, if they and Boston should make it.
