Kyrie Irving adds Sixers to his trade list if he leaves Nets
One of the greatest offensive talents in NBA history might be open to reuniting with James Harden and playing with Joel Embiid.
It’s the day of the NBA Draft and Kyrie Irving is once again, still making headlines.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski posted that the 76ers were named on a (leverage) list of teams the 30-year-old star would be open to play for if negotiations on a long-term extension with the Brooklyn Nets continue to fail. That’s a Philadelphia team that was preparing for the draft and free agency, only to find themselves suddenly potentially envisioning a Joel Embiid, James Harden and Irving trio.
Nets struggling to keep Irving around
Despite Irving’s immense talent, he has sat out quite a fat chunk of time in the 2021-22 season for refusing to be vaccinated, and that’s excluding his time bickering with injuries. The Nets continue to have trouble coming to an agreement with Irving on an extension that would keep him and their most important star, Kevin Durant, in Brooklyn.
Irving has played a total of 103 games in three seasons with the Nets.
Sixers on Irving’s trade list
There are multiple teams Irving is interested in joining, if he ends up leaving Brooklyn. And while the Sixers, along with Irving’s former teammate, Harden, are one of those teams, is Irving a priority for Philadelphia?
We’ll have to wait and see tonight
