Kyrie Irving’s agent denies the claim that the Nets star hates Steve Nash

The week began with a showdown between Kevin Durant and owner Joe Tsai. Durant told the Nets to move him or dismiss Steve Nash and Sean Marks.

Following Kevin Durant’s trade demand that the Brooklyn Nets pick between him, Steve Nash, and Sean Marks, it was reported that Kyrie Irving feels the same way about the team’s coach and general manager. Nonetheless, it doesn’t appear to be the case.

Shetallia Riley Irving, Irving’s agent, and stepmother, refuted the report and said her son would never do or say such things in an interview with the New York Post.

Riley Irving told The Post, “I am not sure where this narrative is coming from but Kyrie does not hate Steve nor Sean. That’s not a part of his being nor how he represents himself in the world. He’s about peace, love and acceptance.”

Kyrie Irving’s representative declined to comment when asked about whether or not the superstar guard shares Kevin Durant’s desire to have Steve Nash and Sean Marks let out of their respective positions.

The dilemma in Brooklyn continues

The trade saga in Brooklyn is obviously becoming messier as weeks go by. Even though there was an initial glimmer of optimism that Durant and Irving would still play for the Nets during the 2022–2023 season, it currently appears that this won’t be possible due to the deterioration of their ties.

The Nets appear to have made up their minds to move Durant and Irving, but it remains to be seen whether or not they will receive the return that they want. However, as things stand now, they have not been offered any proposals that could be considered a game changer. Even a deal that centered on Boston Celtics Jaylen Brown was not enough for the Brooklyn Nets.
