Kyrie Irving re-signs with the Dallas Mavericks: Contract details

Irving’s swift decision to re-sign with Dallas came shortly after the official start of free agency, demonstrating both his commitment to the team and the Mavericks’ desire to retain their star guard.

The financial breakdown of Irving’s new deal is as follows:

  • 2023-24 season: $38.9 million
  • 2024-25 season: $42 million
  • 2025-26 season: $45.1 million (player option)

In addition, there are $6 million in total incentives. This includes $1 million per year for playing at least 65 games, and an additional $1 million if the team achieves at least 50 wins and Irving plays a minimum of 58 games. With an average annual value of $42 million, the deal underscores Irving’s value to the team and the league.

His decision to include a player option for the 2025-26 season also provides flexibility for both him and the franchise. Irving’s contract aims to bring stability and high-level performance to the Mavericks as they strive for deeper playoff success in the coming years.
