LA Lakers looking ahead and lock down four pre-season games

Despite the acquisition of Slovenian star Luka Doncic in February and finishing the regular season in third place in the Western Conference, the 2024-25 NBA season will be remembered by many Lakers fans as ‘underwhelming’.

The few positives which included a 50-win season, a division title, and clinching a direct playoff spot are generally considered successful regular season achievements but expectation rocketed with the addition of Doncic and ultimately things failed to gel on the court.

The team were eliminated in the First Round by the 6th-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves, losing the series with a comprehensive 1-4 and this marked the first time since 2005-06 and 2006-07 that the Lakers were eliminated in the first round in back-to-back seasons.

Lakers looking ahead

As JJ Redick’s men enjoy some downtime after the long season, thoughts in the front office turn to the 2025-26 season which is earmarked to commence on October 21.

The team have confirmed four friendly pre-season games for October where they will face the likes of the Suns, Warriors, Mavs and Kings. The games will take place on October, 3, 12, 15 and 17 and will be staged in Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Las Vegas.
