Lakers 116 - 112 Clippers: Lakers comeback from 21 down in 4th summary, stats, and highlights | NBA
After two FTs from Anthony Davis tied the game up and erased the 21 point fourth quarter deficit, it was Rui Hachimura who drilled the go ahead three and then DeAngelo Russell hit the dagger. And the assist, of course came from LeBron James. James ended the game with 34 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the Lakers on what could be a season defining win from Crypto.com Arena.
LeBron had 19 in the 4th quarter, hitting five threes while turning back the hands of time. For some reason neither the Lakers or ESPN, who broadcasted the game, are posting more than the one three he hit with more than 8 minutes to go, but trust me it was spectacular.

Don't think LeBron didn't remember that this was potentially the final match up between these two teams that have shared the roof for over two decades. The Lakers have dominated the Clips over that span, and James wanted to end the room mate series on a high note.
We were marveling at LeBron before his incredible 4th quarter as the 39 year old continued to defy father time with freakish plays like this block on Amir Coffey.

Change of look
If you haven't hear yet, there has been a complete makeover of the Clippers logo, look and uni. Unveiled this week, the Clippers are getting set for their move to their new stadium with a rebrand of the franchise. For those of you who didn't know, a Clipper is a ship, and it will be featured in the logo. So when you watch the game or see highlights on our live feed, don't be alarmed. Kawhi hasn't been traded he and the Clips are just playing with some new threads.
Western Conference Standings
Taking a look at the Western Conference standings we see two LA teams in very different situations. The Clippers are among the best teams in the West although their slight slump has dipped them down the standings to fourth place, three games back of the first placed Timberwolves. The Lakers are all the way down in 10th, 10.5 games back of first place and if the season ended today they would have to win two road games in the Play-In just to make the playoffs. If they want to avoid the Play-In they are going to have to make it into the top six. The sixth spot is currently occupied by the Suns who are 3.5 games ahead of the Lakers.
Kawhi keeping healthy
With Paul George out for a second straight game, Kawhi Leonards is going to have to take charge. James Harden came to LA earlier this season, and Russell Westbrook is a big part of this team, but there is no bigger star on the Clippers than Kawhi. He has been looked back to his best and strongest self this year. After dealing with injuries for most of the last few years, he has been on the court for all but five games this season. In 51 games, he is averaging 23.9 points, 6.2 rebonds and 3.7 assist, and is one of the Clippers most benefiting from James Harden’s presence on the court.
LeBron ready for action
I usually reserve this section of a Lakers game preview to tell you how this is AD’s team, and LeBron is his sidekick. Forget about that. This is LeBron James’ team, and he knows that. It doesn’t matter that he’s 39 years old. It doesn’t matter that he’s spent two decades in the league. He’s the best player of this generation and he still has the ability to take over games. He was listed as questionable for tonight’s game as he continues to battle an ankle injury but will play tongiht. He’s averaging 25 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.9 assists and the Lakers will need him to take the drivers seat from here on out.
Lakers last game
The Lakers lost their second in three games following the All-Star Break including their game in Phoenix on Sunday afternoon. LA had the lead for just one minute early in the first quarter, and spent the rest of the game chasing Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Grayson Allen who led the Suns with 24 points. Phoenix got off to a scorching start, dropping 45 in the first quarter, but their 17 point first quarter advantage was chipped away at by LeBron James who led all scorers with 28 and Anthony Davis who posted 22 and 14. Towards the end of the third quarter, the Suns’ lead was just two, but Allen and KD would take over and close the game out in the final 12 minutes.
Clippers last game
The Clippers have been exchanging wins and losses for the last seven games, and in their last time out against the Kings, LA came up short of winning their second straight. After a first half that went back and forth from the Crypto.com Arena, De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis took control and built a 17 point lead in the third quarter. With no Paul George and James Harden struggling from the field it was Norman Powell who led LA in scoring, but it wasn’t enough to hold off Fox’s 33 and Sabonis’ 20th triple double while the Kings held off the Clippers for a 123-107 win.
