Lakers - Kings NBA Summer League: How to watch Bronny James’ debut online and on TV

The Lakers return to activity in the NBA Summer League with tournaments in San Francisco and Las Vegas. Here are the confirmed rivals and tip-off times.

After falling 4-1 to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of last season’s playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers will be aiming to return with a new, improved version to confront the new season with renewed optimism. Before that, we will get to see the debuts of the players they bet on in the last NBA draft: Dalton Knecht and Bronny James.

When could Bronny James and Dalton Knecht make their Lakers’ debuts?

Lakers coach JJ Redick has confirmed that both Knecht and Bronny will be given some playing time in this month’s Summer League, with the Lakers participating in two tournaments. Bronny James’ is expected to make his debut tomorrow, Saturday 6 July, when the team faces the Sacramento Kings in the California Classic Summer League.

In addition to these games, they also have three other commitments marked on the calendar in the NBA 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada. It means that LeBron James’ eldest son could participate in at least seven Lakers games this month.

California Classic (San Francisco - Golden 1 Center: 6-7 and 9; Chase Center: 6-7 and 10)

The Kings and Warriors will be co-hosting the sixth annual California Classic Summer with the 12-game schedule split between Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center (July 6-7th and 9th) and San Francisco’s Chase Center (July 6-7th and 10th). The Lakers will be playing their games in San Francisco with Golden State, the Miami Heat and the Kings 2. while the Kings 1, San Antonio Spurs, Charlotte Hornets and special guests China’s national team will be playing in Sacramento.

The California Classic will feature 10-minute quarters, limited timeouts and modified rules, including increased personal and team foul limits. All of the games will be televised live on ESPN, ESPN2 and NBA TV.

As for the NBA 2K25 Summer League 2024, all games will be played in Las Vegas at Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on UNLV’s campus. Each team will play at least five games, including four games from July 12-19. After each team’s first four games, the top four teams will advance to participate in the playoffs, beginning with a semifinal doubleheader on Sunday, July 21 at 2 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. ET.

The 26 teams that do not advance to the four-team playoff will play a fifth game on Saturday, July 20 or Sunday, July 21. All of the 76 games will be streamed live on ESPN platforms (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN+ and ESPN3) and NBA TV.
