Update:

The Los Angeles Lakers’ three-game winning streak came to a crashing halt against Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, despite the best efforts of Bronny James, who put in his best performance in his short NBA career to date.

In truth, the fact JJ Redick’s team were defeated didn’t come as a huge surprise, as they were missing a whole host of regular starters through injury, including LeBron James and Luka Doncic, undoubtedly the franchise’s biggest stars.

Lakers injury update: positive Doncic news

The Lakers are back in action at the Chicago Bulls on Saturday (March 22) and there is plenty of good news for Redick on the fitness front, with a vastly different team set to take to the court at United Center.

Doncic’s fitness issues have been a topic of discussion for several months, although his absence against the Bucks because of a right ankle sprain was precautionary. The Slovenian, Austin Reaves (the same injury), Dorian Finney-Smith (left ankle injury management) and Jarred Vanderbilt (right groin strain) are all probable to return in Chicago.

Is LeBron James playing against the Bulls?

James and Rui Hachimura are the remaining injured starters. Both, however, have been upgraded to questionable in the latest NBA injury report, which means there is a chance they could be back on court against the Bulls.

LeBron has missed the Lakers’ last seven games after suffering a left groin strain against the Boston Celtics on March 8. Hachimura, meanwhile, hasn’t played due to left patellar tendinopathy (AKA ‘jumper’s knee’) since the victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on February 27, sitting out 12 games.
