Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball shared a sweet update about his father, LaVar Ball, who recently had to have his right foot amputated.


The Charlotte Hornets came to Los Angeles on Wednesday to face the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena and put up an impressive 100-97 win over the home team. Hornets guard LaMelo Ball, who scored a crucial bucket in the final seconds of the game, took advantage of being in L.A. to go and spend some time with his father, LaVar Ball, who recently underwent a life-changing surgery.

LaVar Ball “in good spirits” after foot amputation
LaVar Ball, LaMelo’s 57-year-old father, unfortunately had to have his right foot amputated due to a “serious medical issue”, according to TMZ. On Thursday, LaMelo addressed the reports publicly for the first time with a sweet photo and message on social media.
In his Instagram Stories, Ball posted a photo alongside his dad, who is using a scooter to get around, with this caption: “Seen my dawg b4 da game it was only right i love u pops 5L and after”

Despite the difficult procedure and the challenges he will now face, TMZ reported that LaVar is “in great spirits and doing well”.
