LeBron and Lakers lead top-selling NBA merch sales with surprise new entry at second place
Despite failing to advance to the postseason, the Lakers and Lebron proved most popular again in NBA merchandise sales with James Harden making an entry in second place.
The NBA and National Basketball Players Association released data relating to merchandise sales via NBAStore.com for the second half of the 2021-22 regular season (13 January-10 April) and once again Lebron James topped the individual player sales ranking with his LA Lakers side leading the podium when it comes to combined team sales.
Top 10 player sales
There was little mystery in the top seller listing with LeBron remaining the most popular player in sales but the surprise package in the Top 10 ranking was the inclusion of 76ers player James Harden who moved to the Philadelphia franchise in February from the Brooklyn Nets.
Lakers retain merch top spot
Despite failing to secure a postseason place, the LA Lakers retained their top spot in the NBA’s most popular jersey and team merchandise lists with the Los Angeles team holding off the 76ers who enter the Top 10 boosted by a solid season and the sales from star players Embid and Harden. The Warriors complete the podium with the always iconic Chicago Bulls in fourth place.
