There are players who make an All-Star appearance… and then there’s LeBron James, who turned it into a routine, a familiar stage, a territory long conquered. His presence - despite not being a starter this year - once again enters the record books, because beyond the noise of the moment, his All-Star numbers no longer compete with the present. They compete with the NBA’s memory.

This is James’ 22nd All-Star selection, two more than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and six more than Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan. A mark that stops being a statistic and becomes permanence. Even more striking is the number of games he has started. James has been a starter in 20 All-Star Games (he missed 2025 due to injury), all of them consecutive, surpassing Bob Cousy’s streak by eight. A quiet dominance, year after year, never needing to call attention to itself.

Personal numbers in the showcase

Individually, his imprint is just as deep. He has been named All-Star MVP three times, matching Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal and Oscar Robertson. Only Kobe Bryant and Bob Pettit stand above him. And there’s no debate when it comes to scoring. LeBron is the All-Star Game’s all-time leading scorer, with 434 points - a record that may stand forever in a format where hitting 40 first can end the game before history finishes writing itself.

His relationship with time is special too. He was the second-youngest All-Star ever and is now on the verge of becoming the second-oldest. At 41, he joins Abdul-Jabbar as the only players to appear in the event past the age of 40, with Dirk Nowitzki watching from the next step down (40). Across the board, James leads All-Star history in minutes played, field goals made and attempted, and three-pointers attempted.

LeBron’s All-Star numbers

  • All-time leading scorer with 434 points
  • All-time leader in minutes with 537
  • First in field goals made and attempted
  • Third in three-pointers made with 41
  • Third in assists with 113
  • Sixth in rebounds with 114

Even if he isn’t a starter this time, James remains the first name that comes to mind in the All-Star Game. His legacy stretches far beyond being voted into the opening lineup. As a star, he never stops shining. And as a legend, he will almost certainly be remembered as the greatest player this event has ever seen.
