LeBron James sends message to fans in Israel at All-Star Weekend
LeBron James was asked if he had a message for his Israeli fans ahead of the NBA All Star Game. He did have a message, but not everyone liked it.

During his NBA All-Star media availability on Sunday, LeBron James was asked about Israel, and his response is now circulating online.
What did LeBron James say about Israel at NBA All-Star Media Day?
The exchange came when a reporter from Channel 14 in Israel introduced herself and asked James if he had a message for Israeli fans. She also asked for his thoughts on “Danny,” a reference to Israeli NBA player Deni Avdija.
James first addressed the basketball question.
“I’ve been quoted on Danny already,” LeBron said. “I said I believe he was an All-Star. I mean, he is an All-Star. He’s playing exceptional basketball.”
He then responded directly to the message request for fans in Israel.
“If I have fans over there... I’ve never been there.... if I have fans over there, then I hope you’ve been following my career,” James said. “I hope I inspire people over there to not only want to be great in sports, but I want you to be better in general in life.”
He added that he hopes to visit someday.
“Hopefully someday I can make it over there,” he said. “Like I said, I’ve never been over there, but I’ve heard nothing but great things. And I appreciate the question.”

That was the extent of his comments.
Why it’s getting attention
James did not address politics, current events, or the ongoing situation in the region. His remarks were focused on basketball and inspiration.
However, given the heightened sensitivity surrounding Israel in global discussions, any mention of the country by a high-profile public figure can quickly gain traction online. And given everything going on lately, his last comment rubbed some people the wrong way, as he mentioned he’d heard nothing but great things. Clips of the exchange began circulating shortly after media availability concluded.
But the comments themselves were just a straightforward response to a reporter’s question, and they centered on appreciation for fans and praise for an NBA player without any broader political context attached.
