The Los Angeles Lakers suffered an Opening Night loss to the Golden State Warriors and may have a new fitness problem to consider.

Luka Doncic pressed on suspected groin issue
Luka Doncic was at his brilliant best for the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night but couldn’t prevent a 119-109 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
Now in his first full season with the Lakers, Doncic put up 43 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists to kick-start the campaign. However despite his heroics the Lakers ended up with another Opening Night loss and they may have another injury to consider.
Doncic was seen limping in the late stages of the game and appeared to be suffering with groin complaint. It was a groin injury that previously kept him sidelined with the Dallas Mavericks and Doncic was in the locker room for 90 minutes on Tuesday before finally emerging to speak to reporters.

Did Luka Doncic pick up an injury?
When Doncic did appear in front of the media he was asked about his fitness status. Reporters asked specifically about the late-game discomfort but the Slovenian star downplayed talk of an injury.
“It’s probably nothing serious,” Doncic said. “I only felt it a little because my hip moved in the wrong direction. I felt it a little, but it’s probably nothing.”
Speaking ahead of the new season, Doncic revealed that he had lost 31lbs in preparation for the new season. The 26-year-old has started the new year with a 43-point performance and looks like he is ready to lead the team forward.
“It’s probably because I’m attacking the paint more,” Doncic explained, reflecting on his impressive Opening Night numbers. “I think I’m getting better on the defensive end; just trying to get more involved, communicate more. But overall, I played 41 minutes, so I like that… like I said, I felt less tired and in better physical shape. I’m just trying to get the win.”
