The Dallas basketball player made himself available to the national coach this summer when the “Mundobasket” is scheduled from August 25 to September 10. At the beginning of July, coach Aleksandar Sekulić announced an extended list of players he is counting on, and it included Luka Dončić, as well as Vlatko Čančar, who won a championship ring with Denver.

The list includes: Jaka Blažič, Saša Ciani, Vlatko Cančar, Jakob Čebašek, Žiga Dimec, Luka Dončić, Zoran Dragić, Gregor Glas, Gregor Horvat, Urban Klavžar, Aljaž Kunc, Miha Lapornik, Jurij Matsura, Blaž Mahković, Jordan Morgan, Aleksej Nikolić, Bine Prepelić, Klemen Prepelić, Žiga Samar and Mike Tobi.

In the meantime, Dončić received a fascinating request from his Dallas - to lose extra pounds this summer. The Texan franchise’s top officials have spoken to the player to help him lower his weight for the upcoming summer season. The Slovenian player had been sharing videos of himself training on social media to prepare for the World Cup. Maintaining an optimal weight for the competition has been a concern for the player, as being over his ideal weight has affected his performance.

Slovenia will play in a group with Georgia, Venezuela, and Cape Verde at the World Cup.
