Mavs stuck in Dallas
According to the league, the Mavericks were unable to depart Dallas for Milwaukee because of hazardous winter weather in the area, including snow, sleet, freezing rain and flights being delayed or cancelled.
Reports indicate that the team’s plane was still being de-iced and could not take off in time, leaving the Mavericks stranded in Dallas and making timely travel to Milwaukee unsafe.
This marks the second NBA game affected by the storm on Sunday, following the postponement of the Denver Nuggets vs. Memphis Grizzlies matchup due to similarly severe conditions.
The NBA has not yet announced a rescheduled date for the Mavericks-Bucks game; a future makeup date will be released once planned.
Winter storm in Texas
Dallas has been battered by a powerful winter storm that has brought widespread freezing rain and dangerously low temperatures to parts of Texas, leading authorities to discourage travel and warn that conditions will remain hazardous through Monday.
