Mexico’s 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup roster and schedule: Dates and times
The Mexican National Team is gearing up for the FIBA World Cup starting up this weekend. They start the tournament against Montenegro on Saturday.

The countdown to FIBA World Cup is on as the tournament will tip off in a matter of hours. There are eight groups of four teams as the entire field will be looking to knock off defending World Cup Champions Spain.
Another Sweet 16 trip coming up?
One of those teams that will be hoping to make a surprise run in the tournament is Mexico. They may not have the stars that other teams have, but they have a big collection of domestic talent that have been playing together for a long while.
They made their first World Cup in 2014 and got to the Sweet 16 before getting knocked out by Team USA. That could be who they end up playing in the knockout round if they get through the Group Stages, which could prove to be a tough task.

Mexico most likely won’t be considered favorites in Group D. That honor will go to Montenegro and Lithuania. The Eastern European giants have been here before, and know what it takes to be contenders. Mexico and Egypt are less experienced, and will need to get at least one win against Lithuania or Montenegro if they want any chance of getting to the next stage of the World Cup.
They will get a chance to pull off a surprise on Matchday 1 against the Montenegrins. That game will tip off Group D action for the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila.
