MVP Anthony Edwards called out these two players for their performance in All-Star game
Anthony Edwards is one of the faces of the future in the NBA. He is coming off his first MVP of an All-Star Game and he had some harsh words after the game.

This All Star Game was different. This All Star Game meant something. You could see it from the start. There was defense, there was intensity and there was actual competition for the first time in a long time. Guys like Anthony Edwards and Victor Wembanyama showed out on Sunday from LA, but not everyone followed suit.
Young guns take All-Star Game
It should come as no surprise that the MVP of the game was the one who was responsible for setting the tone and bringing an attitude of desire and will to win throughout the three mini matches he played on Sunday from the Intuit Dome. Anthony Edwards led Team USA Stars to the All-Star Game title in the new look round robin after splitting the two first games, but advancing to the final nonetheless.
From the very start, it was Edwards taking the spotlight on the NBA´s brightest night full of the best players in the world. Edwards later attributed it to another one of the faces of the next generation of the NBA, saying after the postgame that it was Team World´s Victor Wembanyama who came out with the energy, and drive that sent a message that this wasn’t going to be some rag tag exhibition in which defense disappears, and intensity evaporates.

“Wemby set the tone, and it was definitely competitive between all three teams. He set the tone and it woke me up for sure,” said Edwards. Victor Wembanyama and Team World played the first game against Team Stars, and Wemby had 14, 6 and 3 blocks in the first game letting everyone know he came to play and came to win.
ANT calls out Luka, and Joker
That wasn’t exactly the case with a couple of Wemby´s teammates who played the first five minutes of the opening game and then sat on the bench for the rest of the way. Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic opened the game on the court but headed to the bench after just five minutes and never returned. After the game, the MVP of the game had something to say about the Serbian and the Slovenian.
“No shade toward Luka and Jokic, they are two of the best players in the league, but they’re not trying to play in the All-Star Game,” Edwards said. Neither Jokic or Doncic have ever been the biggest ticket in the All Star Games of the past, and it must be said that both of the players are nursing some injuries, so that might be the reason for their limited minutes.
In the end it was ANT stealing the show, the young guns of Team USA Stars taking the round robin but it was the NBA that came out as the real winners of the night. After years and years of trying to make the All-Star Game relevant and competitive, it looks like the new generation is going to bring the excitement back to a game that used to be must see TV.
