The 2023-24 NBA season will kick off with Lakers vs Nuggets and Suns vs Warriors, seeing LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant in action.
Fans of the NBA will be eagerly awaiting the start of the 2023-24 season on Tuesday 24 October, which will see matchups between the best of the Western Conference.
The Los Angeles Lakers head to Ball Arena to face defending champions the Denver Nuggets while the Phoenix Suns will face off with the Golden State Warriors.
Star-studded start to NBA 2023-24 season
LeBron James will lead the Lakers on a charge to try and upend last year’s Western Conference finals result, while Stephen Curry and the Warriors will look to silence the big guns of Kevin Durant, Devin Brooker, and Bradley Beal.
Across the league, number one overall pick Victor Wembanyama is set to make his official debut for the Spurs when San Antonio clash with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
Nikola Jokic missed out on league MVP last season, but still managed to help the Nuggets to their first ever franchise title. He will not be the type of player to be swayed by receiving his first ring, but for the city of Denver, he is forever etched into their psyche.
When does the Eastern Conference begin?
For fans of the Eastern Conference, action will have to wait, since opening night is all about the West. The rest of the teams will get underway on Wednesday 25 October, with the exception of the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks, who play their first game on Thursday 26 October.
