2K Games has surprised the gaming community by revealing all the intricacies of the upcoming NBA 2K24. The game’s developers promise a leap in technological advancements that will elevate gameplay to new heights.

Yet, amidst the anticipation for NBA 2K24′s technological leaps and new additions, fans have been speculating about the player who will earn the highest rating. The discussion mainly revolved around Finals MVP Nikola Jokic, regular season MVP Joel Embiid, and the formidable Giannis Antetokounmpo.

On Wednesday, the top 12 player ratings for NBA 2K24 were officially disclosed, and the outcome is hardly surprising.

2K Sports disclosed the initial set of ratings for NBA 2K24, led by Jokić, with a rating of 98 overall. Following him are five players tied at 96 overall, including Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, King James of the Los Angeles Lakers, and the reigning NBA MVP Embiid from the Philadelphia 76ers.

This marks Jokić's debut as the top-rated player in 2K upon the game’s release, after a remarkable offensive performance in NBA history, averaging 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists across 20 playoff games.

The release of 2K24 holds special significance at 2K Sports as it marks the 25th anniversary of the game’s inception. What started as a Sega Dreamcast exclusive in 1999 has transformed into a global phenomenon, standing as the sole remaining NBA simulation in the market.

To commemorate this anniversary and as a tribute to his jersey number, 2K Sports announced earlier this year that Kobe Bryant would be a cover athlete for 2K24. Preorders for the standard Kobe Bryant and Black Mamba special editions became available in July.
