Best undrafted players ever
There are only 28 selections left in this NBA Draft. That means there are going to be a lot of players that are without a team after the final selection on Thursday night. That’s not the end of the road for those players. It might be the unconventional path, but there is still plenty of chance for success in the NBA even if you don’t get drafted. Look at guys like Fred Van Vleet, Austin Reaves, Alex Caruso and Naz Reid. None of those guys were drafted and they are having extremely productive careers in the league. Here is a list of some of the top players ever to go undrafted and make it in the NBA.
Biggest steals in Draft history
The NBA Draft is a chance for teams to measure the top incoming talent and make the best selection for their team. Just because a team is lower down the draft board doesn’t mean that they can’t draft a player that makes a massive impact later down the road. The draft is full of steals. There are loads of instances in which players who turned into superstars were taken late in the first round or even the second round. This year’s class could have a sleeper waiting to turn into a superstar, but before we look forward lets look back to some of the biggest steals of past drafts.
Let the games begin
We are sure to see some front office dealing over the next few hours. Trades are a part of the draft and there are teams that have loads of picks in this draft, like San Antonio and Portland who have four while the Brooklyn Nets have none. The Houston Rockets have the third pick in the draft, but they have had a handful of high picks over the last years, so they could look to shop that three pick around and try to bring in a veteran star, perhaps Kevin Durant who they are reportedly courting. The Thunder are in the same boat as the Rockets. A young team with a lot of talent who may not need too much help in this draft. The Grizzlies, Knicks and Spurs could also be tempted to looking into making a trade over the next two days.

The French Revolution
It looks like the NBA torch has been passed from the Balkans to France. At the moment, young French players are taking over the NBA Draft dating back to last year, and it’s not just Victor Wembanyama. Tony Parker set the standard for the new wave of talent sweeping through the league and this year Alex Sarr and Zaccharie Risacher went in the first two picks, but they aren’t the only Frenchies in the class. Tidjane Salaun, Pacome Dadiet, have already been selected in the first round and Melvin Ajinca is still on the draft board.

Does college basketball have a problem?
With the way college basketball is trending with NIL and the transfer portal stars are hard to come by in the NCAA. That’s why it seems that the tendency for teams to value foreign players who have played against professionals is becoming more and more common ground. It’s been a while since a player out of college created as much of a buzz as we have seen from some of the foreign guys who are coming into the league. The game is changing and the rest of the world is catching up. All you have to do is take a look at the MVP voting over the last few years.

Top prospects left
There was plenty of excitement surrounding the first round although the hype was not exactly up to par with last year’s Draft in which Victor Wembanyama was taken No. 1 over all. Bronny James is one of the biggest names in the draft, but isn’t considered to be one of the best prospects that are still on the draft board entering Day 2. According to our friends at ESPN, Johnny Furphy from Kansas, Kyle Filipowski from Duke, Tyler Kolek from Marquette, and Bobi Klintman from Sweden are all expecting to have their names called today, but how long will they have to wait?

How it works
We have 28 picks awaiting us in Round 2, but not all teams will get a selection. The Phoenix Suns and the Brooklyn Nets will not have a pick. Each team will be on the clock for two minutes as they weigh their options and choose the best fit for their franchise. Most of the players won’t be in attendance from ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in Manhattan. Unlike yesterday, the Toronto Raptors, not the Atlanta Hawks will have the first pick of Day 2. There could be trades, and some front office wheeling and dealing, so expect the unexpected tonight from New York.
We are live from New York
Hello everyone and welcome to Day 2 of the NBA Draft. Yesterday gave us a glimpse into the future of the NBA as we saw two Frenchman taken with the opening two picks of the first round, a couple of NCAA Champions were taken in the Top 10, trades were made and the defending Champion Boston Celtics made their selection that could bring some depth to an already stacked squad. This afternoon we have 28 picks that await us, and there are plenty of nerves and anxiety going around as the rest of the draft class hope to hear their names announced on Day 2. There are plenty of big names awaiting their futures to be determined, but the biggest name of Day 2 is Bronny James, LeBron’s son.
