Tuesday’s NBA opening night game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors is special not only because it launches the 2022-23 season but also because championship rings will be handed out to the hosts at Chase Center in San Francisco.

Sky-high ticket prices for Lakers vs. Warriors

For such a special event, basketball fans need to pay special prices. The average price for tickets to the game on the resale market is a steep $897, according to Sporting Tribune’s Arash Markazi. Per Markazi, this is second only to the median price for tickets to Kobe Bryant’s farewell game back in 2016, which was $1,137.

Despite this intimidating number, the get-in price is much more affordable. As of Tuesday morning, the cheapest tickets on Ticket Master cost $200, on Vivid Seats they cost $220, and on Tickpick the price is $246. The ones available on Stubhub are a bit more expensive, starting at $485. The most expensive tickets cost upwards of $10,000.

Raising the banner, receiving the rings

Warriors supporters who are able to purchase entries to the game will be treated to the sight of the their team lifting yet another banner to the rafters of their home arena.

They will also witness their star players Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, and Klay Thompson receive their fourth championship rings, and get to cheer the squad as they launch their campaign to secure back-to-back championships and win their eighth NBA title.

The Golden State Warriors host the Los Angeles Lakers for the opening night of the NBA. Tip-off is at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT at Chase Center.
