NBA stars sign with NBC and Amazon for 2025/26 TV coverage
The league’s new television broadcast deal goes into affect later this year, sparking a migration of on-air talent.

There have been some major moves made this NBA offseason, bringing household names to new surroundings ahead of the 2025/26 season. And we’re not talking about the players.
The upcoming season is the first under the NBA’s new national broadcast deal, with some big changes coming for viewers. ESPN has retained the rights from the previous iteration of the deal, but NBC returns to the fold and Amazon is taking a first step into the world of live NBA coverage.
With the entry of NBC and Amazon, TNT is leaving the stage and the popular ‘Inside the NBA’ studio show has been sold to ESPN. All these changes have caused a shuffle of the broadcast experts, the former stars and analysts who play such a key role in the broadcast. Here’s a look at the line-up for NBC and Amazon...
NBC - NBA broadcast team
Studio analysts - Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter
Special contributor - Michael Jordan
Game analysts - Reggie Miller, Jamal Crawford, Grant Hill, Austin Rivers, Derek Fisher, Brian Scalabrine, Robbie Hummel, Brad Daugherty
Amazon - NBA broadcast team
Studio analysts - Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki, Udonis Haslem
Game / Studio analysts - Candace Parker, Dwyane Wade, Steve Nash
Game analysts - Stan Van Gundy, Brent Barry, Dell Curry
Of all the stellar names on the broadcast line-up, the one that will be generating the most excitement is surely Michael Jordan. The six-time NBA champion, GOAT contender and global megastar has avoided media roles since retiring in 2003. But back in May NBC announced that they had convinced him to lend his expertise to their new broadcast team.
The announcement read: “A legendary addition to our team! We’re thrilled to welcome Michael Jordan as a special contributor to the NBA on NBC and Peacock."
From 2006 to 2023 Jordan had an ownership stake in the Charlotte Hornets, something that may have prevented him from taking a role in the world of broadcast. Having helped to turn the NBA into a cultural behemoth in the 1990s, Jordan is brought back to kick-start NBC’s return to broadcast coverage.
His exact role - ‘special contributor’ - is pretty vague but you can be sure that he will not be afraid to speak his mind when casting his expert eye over the game.
