NBA trade rumours: What good players on bad teams might be available?

With trade rumor season right on top of us at the moment, we take a look at who might be out there on the market. Luka Doncic normally stays away from the front office’ decisions, but has been reportedly howling for help down in Dallas.

The Raptors are likely to unload Fred Van Fleet, not because he is not needed, but because hanging onto him will not save Toronto’s chances this season. While the Suns are a favorite to land him, Orlando is in the hunt as well.

Utah’s Mike Conley is on the shopping list for both the Clippers and the Timberwolves and while this answers some of their own needs, partly this deal may come down to whether or not the Jazz can pick up John Collins from the Hawks. Their hopes are dwindling fast but they may feel the need to be sellers rather than buyers at this point in the season.

Bojan Bogdanović is perhaps the best player on the market right now, and Detroit knows it. They have a gold mine on their hands and will demand a very high premium for his services.

With Eric Gordon now at the short end of his Houston contract, it is almost certain that the Rockets will happily let the 34-year-old go. Particularly since they are on the hunt for a young player or a future first round pick in the deal.

With the Magic looking to strengthen their franchise, it may be surprising that they would be sellers rather than buyers. With a first round pick in 2023, they will be trying to build on that Paolo Banchero pick from last season, but in the meantime could make some space by unloading Mo Bamba.

His $10.3 million salary isn’t guaranteed until June, so they can take their time, but with his role reduced in their lineup, Bamba could be a prime candidate to trade off.

D’Angelo Russel will become an unrestricted free agent this summer and the Heat have already shown great interest in the Timberwolves point guard. There seems to be no sign of a deal with Minnesota in the offing, so he could be on the move soon.
