Pacers 133 - 116 Clippers summary, stats, scores and highlights | NBA

The Indiana Pacers lit the Crypto.com Arena up and bounced back from a loss in LA the night before with a 133-116 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Pacers buckled down on defense in the second half and the shots stopped falling for the Clippers. The win in LA bring Indiana that much closer to the top four in the East. They are still a couple games behind the Knicks but if they play like they did on Monday, it will be hard for the Knicks and the Magic to hold off Indy.

The Clippers have now lost five straight games at home, and have to hit the road for the next four. They are hanging on to the top four spot in the West, but just barely as New Orleans continues to nip at their heels.

as.com

Siakam took over in the final quarter, and ended the night with 31 points for his second straight 30 point game.

as.com

The Pacers shot 58% from the field on the night after they put up 145 points in a losing effort to the Lakers last night. They only had 34 rebounds, but when you shoot like they did, you don't need rebounds, unless it's like this one from Obi Toppin.

as.com

The in-season addition of Siakam is going to turn this Pacers team into an extremely tough out in the Eastern Conference. He is hitting stride at the right time for Indy.

as.com

Myles Turner and Siakam are proving to be a deadly duo down low. Both can stretch the defense, both can bang down low and both are capable of having a big night on the offensive end. Turner had 8 of his 24 in the first few possessions of the third quarter.

as.com

The Pacers are the top scoring offense in the league, and going up against the Clippers shaky defense allowed them plenty of opportunity for easy looks like this one from Jarace Walker who had 8 points off the bench.

as.com

On the second end of a back to back, the bench was going to have to come up big, and they did that against the Clippers. McConnell had 15 of the 41 bench points for Indiana.

as.com

Tyrese Haliburton slowed down a bit in the second half, but there was no stopping him from downtown in the first two quarters. He hit five threes and had fifteen points at the break.

as.com

The Indiana Pacers bounced back from a loss on the front end of a back to back series in LA with a win over the Clippers in a high scoring affair from Crypto.com Arena. Pascal Siakam led the way scoring 30+ for a second straight night in the 133-116 victory.

The Pacers dropped a game to the Lakers in which both teams totaled almost 300 points but they bounced back and looked the fresher of the two teams on Monday night. Siakam had his best night as a Pacer against the Lakers the night before and followed that performance with another dominant night from LA.

WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM LA!!!

as.com

The Pacers are on the second end of a back to back, and while they didn't have to travel, they were involved in a 300 point shootout last night against the Lakers. It's a quick turn around tonight and Rick Carlisle is going with Haliburton, Turner, Nembhard, Sheppard and Siakam down low tonight in LA.

as.com

Nothing changes to the starting five for Ty Lue, despite Russ Westebrook's return. He will come off the bench as Harden, George and Kawhi get things starter from the tip with Zubac down low and Terrance Mann working the perimeter.

NBA Standings

Taking a look at the standings in both conferences, we see both of these teams hovering in the middle of the playoff picture. The Pacers goal will be to catch up to the teams in the top four of the East, but they have their work cut out, currently three games behind the 4th placed Knicks, and just a half game over the Heat and the Sixers who are looking to jump them and avoid the Play-In Tournament. Meanwhile, the fourth placed Clippers are holding off the Pelicans who are just a half game back in the standings. Jumping into the top three is likely going to be tough seeing as the Thunder, Nuggets and T’Wolves are in a three team race for the one seed. The Clippers and Pelicans are going to be locked in a two team race for the 4th spot while rest of the pack will be fighting for the 6th seed which guarantees an automatic playoff birth.

Return of Russ

The Clippers key to success from here until the rest of the season is going to depend on how healthy they are. This is a team that has seen their two stars, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard hampered by injuries for the last few years. They showed just how good they can be during a long stretch of the season in which everyone was healthy and it seems like their starts are finding their fitness at the right time. Kawhi had a scare as his back spasms flared up a couple weeks ago, but he has over come that, and seems to be 100% for the final stretch of the regular season. Russell Westbrook is also set to make his return to action tonight after breaking his hand just over three weeks ago. While he may not be starting for the Clippers his energy off the bench and ability to lead the second unit has been crucial for the Clippers this season.

as.com

Siakam settling in nicely

The Pacers have a young crop of talent that is going to be a problem in the Eastern Conference for years to come. They were already a team chalked full of talent, led by Tyrese Haliburton, but the trade that brought Pascal Siakam to town makes them even more of an immediate threat to the top teams in the East. Since joining the Pacers, he is averaging 21.4 points, 8 rebounds and 4.1 assists and adds another added dimension to an already dangerous team in an Eastern Conference that is wide open.

as.com

Clippers last game

The Clips returned home after two games in Portland, and were stunned by a Philadelphia 76ers that traded James Harden to LA at the beginning of the season. Philly was without Joel Embiid, but Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris picked up the slack scoring 24 each, and Cam Payne adding 23 in a game that the Sixers jumped out to a double digit lead in the first quarter. That would stretch to 17 in the second, but the Clips made a brief comeback on the heels of James Harden’s 12 and 14 assists, but the Sixers responded going up 20 in the 4th quarter and handing the Clips their third loss in the last five games.

as.com

Pacers last game

The Pacers were in LA last night for the front end of a back-to-back series, and both teams put on a show. The fireworks started early and didn’t slow down for the rest of the night, as there were almost 300 points scored. Anthony Davis and Pascal Siakam went blow for blow, both registering a 36 point double-double but it was the Lakers that pulled through in the fourth quarter of the shootout from Crypto.com Arena. LA had four players score over 25 points, and took the lead after halftime which they carried to the finish line.
