The 2022 NBA Free Agency is just getting started and 30 NBA teams will have an opportunity to scan the market for their most suitable players.

And while there are plenty of conversations across the league about where and which top players will be locked down, there is certainly a dominant one going around: where Kevin Durant will end up.

The superstar power forward has reportedly requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, and according to ESPN, he has a few preferred destinations.

Which NBA team does Durant want to play for?

Turning 34 this season, Durant remains one of the best players in the NBA and seems to continue being unstoppable with age. Undoubtedly, every franchise in the league should be looking at the option of acquiring the 12-time All-Star, but realistically a few teams are in the race for the two-time NBA champion.

The ESPN report that came out earlier listed the Phoenix Suns as one of Durant’s preferred destinations, and the Miami Heat as another preferred choice for the 33-year-old.

If the Suns wanted to entertain an offer and make a trade for Durant, they would surely have to give up a few of their top players, along with future draft pick selections for the Nets. Looking back at the end of the 2021-22 season, Deandre Ayton would probably be part of a Phoenix trade, if there were to be one, after some visible friction with the franchise.

However, Phoenix would have to weigh their pros and cons having had their best record last season and having made the NBA Finals two seasons ago. Would shaking up their currently solid team be worth landing Durant?

Considered one of the top five, if not top three players in the league, Durant averaged nearly 30 points per game, 7 rebounds and 6 assists last seasons. It is certainly rare to have an MVP candidate like Durant on the trade market with four years left on his contract.
