The Cleveland franchise will look to the Spaniard again who is still recovering from his ACL tear and not expected to start the season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have deposited their faith in Rubio with the Spanish point guard still recovering from a serious ACL injury which he sustained in December 2021. The player is expected to miss the opening stage of the 2022/23 season but the good news for the El Masnou point guard is a new Cavs contract.

The Spaniard will pen a three-year, $18.4 million deal according to Chris Haynes (Yahoo) after being traded to the Pacers this past season in the Caris LeVert deal.

The player will be absent for Spain for the forthcoming 2022 EuroBasket competition and is not expected back on court until at least November or December of this year as his rehabilitation from the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against the Pelicans continues.
