The 76ers blew their chance at making it to round 3 in Game 6 against the Miami Heat, and it revealed some harsh realities about the team. In the 99-90 loss, the Sixers newest $393 million prize James Harden looked like he couldn’t possibly care less.

Harden only scored 11 points, all of which were in the first half - not a single bucket in the second half. That’s a lot of money for nada. His performance was so bad that there’s been talk that his worth as a supermax player has ended.

Everyone had their opinions and they spoke them on social media, questioning this whole trade and wondering (justifiably), why the Sixers would trade Ben Simmons, who couldn’t be clutch, for another who choked it away when it mattered?

Despite his poor performance, both Harden and coach Doc Rivers will stay with the Sixers next season. The Sixers president of operations Daryl Morey said that they intend to keep him on the team, but the details of his contract are not yet known. Before the epically terrible Game 6 display, there was talk of extending his contract to a max contract, but it seems unlikely now.
