Tonight's odds
According to the sports books, the Heat are 3.5 point favorites, and the Over/Under is 209.5. If I’m being honest, I think the Sixers are the better team in this series. Miami may have been the top seed in the East, but Philly is still a team that is building their chemistry as each game passes. Embiid being back definitely tilts the favor in for the Sixers in the series and tonight.
Spoelstra's starting five for tonight.
The Philly starting five for Game 5. The role players have been stepping up for the Sixers over the last couple of games and will need the same sort of production tonight.
The man in the mask is back tonight. This will be the third game that Embiid is wearing the protective mask. He has yet to hit his average of 30 ppg.
The Heat will be without Kyle Lowry who attempted a comeback form a hamstring injury in the last two games, but was largely ineffective scoring a total of just six points. Miami center Dewayne Dedmon sat out last game, and his status for tonight is still up in the air. While he’s not the most effective player, giving Bam Adebayo a bit of rest and having some fouls to spend always comes in handy when you’re going up against Joel Embiid.
Butler leading the way for Miami
Jimmy Butler has been the man for the Heat in this series, this post season and all season long. While he averaged a very modest 18.5 points in the first two games he has scored 33 points and 40 points in his last two games. He will need help from guys like Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro off the bench.
No MVP for Embiid
Early reports out of the NBA are stating that Joel Embiid will lose out to fellow center Nikola Jokic, who is set to win his second straight MVP award. Let’s see how Embiid comes out tonight. He will certainly be hoping to prove those who voted against him wrong after averaging 30.6 points and 11.4 rebonds a game. Since returning form injury, Embiid is averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds through two games in this series.
Spoelstra speaks after loss
Miami was shut down in Game 3 in Philly, scoring less than 80 points. They ramped up the scoring in the following matchup, especially Jimmy Butler who was the game’s top scorer. Eric Spoelstra will be hoping to get the same sort of looks they got in Game 4, but with different results. "I thought we had some really good looks. We just missed them," coach Erik Spoelstra said after the Heat went 7-35 from downtown.
Harden speaks after Game 4 win
James Harden told reporters that the Sixers are growing as the series goes on and Philly gets healthier by the day. "We're getting more confident as the series goes on," Harden said. "Those first two games (were) a blur. But obviously, having Joel and having our full team, we kind of know what to expect. We know where to execute on both sides of the ball.
It's going to be a white out at FTX Arena tonight. Let's see if the Heat fans, who are notroiously tarde, show up on time.

Game 4 recap
James Harden played the hero role for the Sixers in Game 4, scoring 31 points and taking over in the fourth quarter. Embiid let Harden take the wheel in his second game back after fracturing his orbital bone in the first round series against Toronto. Jimmy Butler’s 40 points kept the Heat in contention until the end, but Harden scored 16 in the final quarter to seal the victory and even the series at 2-2.
