Update:

Skip Bayless is known around the sports world for his high octane, passionate, and often times controversial takes. Over the course of his career he has blossomed in to one of the most known sports shock jocks, and once again, he has taken aim at the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

James first to 50K

LeBron James just reached the latest milestone in his long and illustrious career. The King became the first player in history to score 50,000 points against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night. When you add that to his four titles, four MVPS and almost two decades of All-Star appearances you have to put LeBron among the greatest players to ever play the game.

That’s a fact, that’s not opinion. With everything that LeBron his done since coming into the league, it’s him Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and then everyone else. Somehow some way, there are still people that throw shade at the kid from Akron, and Bayless is always first in line.

On his show, The Skip Bayless Show, the pundit put LeBron in the crosshairs once again. “On a nightly basis, I hear commentators rave about how hard LeBron has worked to come a better shooter,” Bayless said. “The other night on ESPN, Richard Jefferson, who of course played with LeBron, who loves LeBron, just gushed about how much time and how much effort LeBron has put into improving his jump shooting. Way to go, LeBron!”

The King is still on the throne

At 40 years old, Lebron is shooting 51.9% from the field and 39.4% from three point range while averaging 24.9 points, 8 rebounds and 8.5 assists. Those numbers aren’t far off from his numbers that he put up in his last MVP season which came over a decade ago.

“What was he doing his first 20 off-seasons? I mean, he wasted 20 years! He did, seriously! …. Why didn’t LeBron, much earlier, get in the lab, why didn’t he put in the time and the effort to make himself unguardable as a high volume three-point shooter, making 40% of his attempts.”

LeBron’s Lakers are now sitting second in the West and one of the hottest teams in the league since trading for Luka Doncic. Luka in LA doesn’t just mean the Lakers have their superstar for the next generation, it means that James can finally take some of the load off his shoulders especially late in the season as the playoffs come rolling around.
