After a scare at the end of Wednesday’s Game 3, Steph Curry has avoided a major injury. That’s a collective breath all Warriors and fans can take knowing that their superstar is now expected to play in Game 4 on Friday.

How did it happen?

Late in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s game vs the Celtics, Curry was in visible pain after appearing to have injured his foot going for a loose ball. He persevered through it briefly, but was later pulled out of the game.

After the game, the baby-faced assassin acknowledged there was pain in his foot but was confident he’d be able to shake it off for Friday. He also shared that this injury was similar to another one he suffered against the Celtics that caused him to miss the final stretch of the regular season.

On Thursday morning, Curry assured the Dubs nation that he’s “going to play” in Game 4. Coach Steve Kerr also said he expects Curry to play after the treatment and recovery.

Lead NBA Insider Shams Charania reiterated Curry and Kerr’s comments by taking to Twitter:

The Warriors desperately need their superstar if they want to win the NBA Finals, and this injury is certainly a concern for Golden State. Curry is leading the series with 31.3 points per game, while the next closest Warrior is averaging 17.0 points per game, Klay Thompson.
