Steph Curry on his bold sneaker choices: “Everyone should be on alert!”
After his 12-year partnership with Under Armour ended Curry’s shoe choices have paid tribute to the likes of Michael Jordan and Sabrina Ionescu.

For more than a decade, Under Armour has had one of the most marketable athletes on the planet in its roster. Steph Curry was a long-time UA athlete but his 12-year partnership came to an end recently and he has taken the opportunity to express himself more freely.
In recent weeks he has worn the Nike IONESCREW Sabrina 3s in a tribute to WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu. When the Lakers took on the Utah Jazz on Monday Curry donned a pair of ‘Flu Game’ Air Jordan XIVs, a nod to Michael Jordan’s legendary performance against the Jazz in the 1997 NBA Finals.
“It’s cool understanding the history of the game and themes around certain teams we’re playing. I brought out the (Jordan) Flu Games and the Final Shots and then played in the Sabrina 3s,” Curry said after the Utah game.

“Everybody should be on alert. I’m calling everybody. Trying to get some good product. It’s just fun to honor certain eras, moments in the game, current athletes who are doing great things. Just having fun with it.”
“It was kind of a coincidence - I didn’t know she was going to be here until yesterday - and I just had a pair of shoes, and it was a great moment,” Curry said when asked about his decision to wear Ionescu’s sneakers. “She’s doing amazing things, she’s a champ and to honor another Bay Area athlete that’s doing amazing stuff.”
He also appeared wearing Shaquille O’Neal’s Reebok Shaqnosis sneakers ahead of the Warriors’ game against the Orlando Magic. Eagle-eyed fans have also spotted Curry wearing Jimmy Butler’s ‘Batman’ Li-Ning JB4s, the ‘Mambacita’ Nike Kobe 6 and the ‘Royal’ Nike Air Foamposite. What’s next is anyone’s guess.
