Five NBA Christmas Day crackers scheduled
The duel between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers will be one of the five Christmas commitments of the 2023-24 NBA season.
Christmas is a very special period in the NBA calendar and the five games have been earmarked to take place on 25 December (2023).
According to the report by well connected Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Christmas card will include Milwaukee Bucks against New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden; Philadelphia 76ers will play Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center; the Boston Celtics will visit the Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena; the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns will play at the Footprint Center; and the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets will close the curtain at the Ball Arena.
The fierce rivalry between the Celtics and the Lakers is unmatched in the league with both teams having won 17 championships apiece. Between regular season games and the playoffs, both teams have met 372 times with a balance in favor of Boston with 208 wins and 164 losses.
Heat replace Grizzlies
Of the ten teams that are set for action on Christmas Day 2023, only one did not participate in the 2022 25 December bonanza as Miami Heat replace the Memphis Grizzlies on the schedule. The side from Florida team reached the 22-23 Finals and the Tennessee franchise have been in hot water recently after star player Ja Morant was caught posing with a gun recently.
