The “Basketball Hall of Fame” in Massachusetts was conceived as an institution that preserves the memory of legendary individuals and teams (primarily American) basketball. Every year, new members are inducted under the vaults of this edifice with beautiful ceremonies, but it rarely happens that so many true basketball legends are honored, as is the case with the “Class of 2023″.

Gregg Popovich, Dirk Nowitzki, Dwayne Wade, Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, Becky Hammon, and the USA team participating in the 1976 Olympic Games became members of the Hall of Fame this Saturday night.

Gregg Popovich is considered perhaps the most successful and influential coach in the history of the NBA, and he has been the head of the San Antonio Spurs since 1996. He was a five-time NBA champion.

From 1998 to 2019, Dirk Nowitzki wore the jersey of the Dallas Mavericks, which he heroically led to the title of NBA champion in 2011. He was the European vice-champion and third in the world with the German national team.

Dwayne Wade, a three-time NBA champion, is considered one of the best guards of the 21st century, and he will be most remembered for his time in the Miami Heat, with which he won three championship rings.

Pau Gasol is the most outstanding Spanish basketball player of all time; with the “Furia,” he won 11 medals at major competitions, and with the Los Angeles Lakers, he was the NBA champion twice.

Tony Parker spent almost his entire NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs and coach Popovic, with whom he was introduced under the vaults of the House.

Becky Hammon, a legendary basketball player, was a WNBA All-Star and a member of the Russian national team. After her playing career, she is hugely successful as a coach. Many believe she could become the first female head coach in NBA history.

Players must be retired for at least four seasons before becoming available to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
