The Jonas Brothers and WNBA fans beef explained
A last-minute venue conflict turned a Mercury playoff game into the spark for an unlikely Jonas Brothers vs. WNBA showdown.

The WNBA continues to experience significant growth in popularity, and the Jonas Brothers have unexpectedly become victims of the league’s success.
Mercury playoff run creates scheduling conflict
The sibling pop rock band were set to perform at PHX Arena in Phoenix on Sunday, Sept. 28, but the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury threw a major wrench in those plans.
The Mercury, currently in the middle of the WNBA playoffs, secured a dramatic comeback victory over the Minnesota Lynx in Game 2 of the semifinals. That win guaranteed Phoenix back-to-back home games at PHX Arena, with the second game now scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 28.
Jonas Brothers concert pushed back
The result created a direct scheduling clash with the Jonas Brothers concert. This time, it is the Mercury, tenants at PHX Arena since 1997, who are being prioritized, a shift from years past. The concert has been moved to Monday, Sept. 29, still at the same venue.
Fans celebrate women’s basketball moment
The Jonas Brothers themselves don’t appear upset, at least publicly. They even posted a congratulatory message to the Mercury on social media.
But some fans, especially WNBA supporters, are relishing the change, seeing it as another sign that women’s basketball is now a bigger draw in the sports and entertainment landscape.
The Jonas brothers moved their concert to Monday instead of Sunday in Phoenix due to the Mercury playoff game.

I get being mad or disappointed but some of y’all are throwing tantrums and being disrespectful towards the W. So now y’all are having WNBA fans coming at you…for a JBros concert…that is rescheduled for the next day. They aren’t worth all that https://t.co/0OLEN4uX3z

The Jonas brothers have had to downsize arena’s btw. The WNBA has had to play in larger venues due to growing fan bases. Don’t get brave.

Had no idea the Jonas Brothers had fans mobilizing like this in the year 2025

The Jonas brothers rescheduling their Phoenix show for a basketball game is so dumb. Their show has been scheduled for months & suddenly this game dictates when they can preform? Insane.

crazy that jonas brothers fans have time to worry about wnba ticket sales when they should have their hands full with all the cheap nostalgia bait projects they're shovelling out to recuperate the costs from joe's failed smear campaign against sophie turner https://t.co/O8Bjp9rN4D

You can tell Jonas Brothers fans are perpetually living in 2013 because they still think WNBA playoff games are empty… https://t.co/VOn4HebcCh

Many complaints from Jonas Brothers fans were logistics-related, with concertgoers angrily questioning how the show could be moved on such short notice, disrupting travel plans and time off work.
Some of the bands’ followers were, however, happy to give a little bit back.
Why are people so shocked the Jonas Brothers have fans and that they are upset by this? This is a sold out show of 18k+ people, being completely changed four days before the concert. If you are a fan of a basketball team why can’t we be a fan of a band. https://t.co/Et40pkoGp1

I see some people getting worked up because the “WNBA is making the Jonas Brothers move.” Just for some perspective … pic.twitter.com/sPpnTZF7Be

Cancel a concert that a majority of women go to and have planned for months? This'll definitely make more women want to watch this! Great marketing WNBA! 🙄 https://t.co/BhpXr4xhvd
