It finally happened! The Lakers have done it. Russell Westbrook is finally traded. The PG will play in Utah if no other trade is made. Every trade window for the past two years has been the is this going to be the moment where the Lakers finally trade Russell to some other team? What started as a rocky relationship from the beginning comes to an end.

Everyone knew that LeBron and Russ couldn’t share a ball; most experts understood this, except the LA franchise. The trade was meant to be for Kyrie Irving, but after the ex-Brooklyn went off to the Mavs, the Lakers knew they had to move fast if they wanted to get the most for their buck. This deal will help revitalize Russ’ career as well as give depth to an a LA team that was short on talent.

Will Russell Westbrook stay with the Utah Jazz or be traded?

It is very unlikely that Westbrook will stay with the Jazz. The guard will most likely be bought out, with the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers being the teams with the most interest, for the now ex-Lakers player. Miami could use a guard like him now that Lowry is injured, and his form is not that great. This is the explosiveness the team needs.

What did the Lakers trade for when sending Russell Westbrook to the Utah Jazz?

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Lakers have acquired guard D’Angelo Russell from the Timberwolves in exchange for guard Russell Westbrook to go to Utah and center Mike Conley to Minnesota. In addition, the Jazz has sent guard Malik Beasley and forward Jarrett Vanderbilt to the Lakers.
