After a sweet preseason, in which the Golden State Warriors won three of their four games, a new NBA season awaits in San Francisco. After achieving the million-dollar incorporation of Chris Paul, who is set to earn more than $30 million this year, Steve Kerr will is missing just one of the team’s pillars: Draymond Green. The member of the Warriors’ ‘Big Four’ is a serious doubt for the opening game against the Suns.

Draymond Green’s injury has become a cause for concern in San Francisco Bay. The power forward sprained his left ankle during a pickup game at Chase Center late last month. Now, in a statement from the San Francisco franchise, it is doubtful that the player will be available before the premiere against the fearsome Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.

“Warriors forward Draymond Green, who suffered a sprained left ankle during off-season workouts and missed all five of the team’s preseason games, continues to make good progress. He has been cleared to begin practicing with the team (5-on-5) and his return to game action will be based on his continued progress as he works his way into game-like condition”, read the message from the franchise public relations department.

Tough opener

For the first date of the tournament, the Warriors will start with an early final. The Big Four of the Chase Center, for that night Big Three, will have before them the great challenge of stopping Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. In addition, Chris Paul will return to the Arizona desert on a very special night, facing what a priori should be his replacement. Steve Kerr’s men will have the advantage of playing in a fortress like the Chase Center. The Warriors have won 80.5% of their home games, losing just eight times.
