“They should name it the Bronny League... He is really dominating”
Bronny James, son of LeBron, has been tearing it up in the G League this year and recently dropped a career-high 39 points against the Santa Cruz Warriors.

When the LA Lakers selected Bronny James with the 55th pick of the 2024 NBA Draft, eyebrows were raised. The 6ft 2in shooting guard had a fairly unspectacular college career but he joined up with his dad, LeBron James, with the Lakers.
He embarked on one of the most scrutinized first NBA seasons of any second-round pick and wasn’t able to nail down a starting berth with the Lakers. However he did show evidence of growth and has starred since dropping down to the G League.
The G League season is divided in two halves: a Tip-Off Tournament (November 9 - December 21); and the regular season (December 27 - March 29). Across 11 games with the South Bay Lakers, Bronny has averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists. He has also shot at 37% from the three-point line.
He recently dropped a career-high 39 points in a win against the Santa Cruz Warriors and has quickly established himself as one of the stars of the G League.
“They should name it the Bronny League”
His impressive performances, along with the stellar name, have made Bronny’s G League games a major event. Three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas spoke about Bronny’s impact on the latest episode of his ‘Agent Zero’ podcast.
“They should name the G-League the Bronny League because he’s f***ng them up. I mean, he is really dominating. Have we heard about anybody else’s performance? He is the G-League,” he said.
“You know how I know he’s playing so well in the G-League? When the excuse is, ‘Oh, it’s just the G-League.’ Oh! Now it’s just the G-League?.. Who is selling out arenas? Who is selling the jersey sales? If they drop a shoe, who gonna be No. 1 in the G-League in shoes?”
It’s certainly true that Bronny has a celebrity status that far outstrips every other player in the G League. But for now, with only 12 games played in the competition, a rename is perhaps a bit premature.
