Twitter reactions to Spain winning Eurobasket: ‘Juancho turned into Bo Cruz for this game’
Spain won Eurobasket 2022 by defeating France, and the performance of Juancho Hernangomez in the final game was reminiscent of Bo Cruz of the movie ‘Hustle’.
Spain conquered France to become the champions of FIBA Eurobasket 2022, and the stars of the night were the Hernangomez brothers: Juancho- star of the Netflix movie ‘Hustle- who led Spain to a dominating victory with 27 points including seven three pointers; and Willy, who was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Due in part to the siblings’ Netflix fame (Willy had a cameo in the film as well) and their being NBA players (Willy for the New Orleans Pelicans and Juancho for the Toronto Raptors), Twitter went abuzz after the Spanish victory, many referencing the Adam Sandler starrer.
The man largely responsible for Juancho’s surge in popularity also took to Twitter to congratulate the new champions.
Though the Hernangomez brothers got a lot of airtime for what they deivered, winning the Eurobasket championship was a team effort and congratulations were in order for the whole Spanish team for their achievement.
