Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren lead the Rookie All-NBA first team
This year’s top rookie players in the National Basketball Association are the young centers of the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In the official voting, both players received a maximum of 99 votes from sports journalists who participated in the selection. On Monday, NBA management announced the selection of the ideal five “rookies” and the second-best rookie team. Somewhat shockingly, a player from Wisconsin made it to the top five. It’s Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski, who just surpassed Derrick Lively in the voting, a player who has made significant contributions to the Dallas Mavericks’ success in the playoffs.
In addition to the two centers, the ideal rookie team includes Brandon Miller (Charlotte Hornets), Jaime Jaquez Jr. (Miami Heat), and Brandin Podziemski (Golden State Warriors).
Victor Wembanyama recorded 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.6 blocks per game in the season. In 82 games, Holmgren averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks for his team in Oklahoma City.
