Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr was visibly emotional when he expressed his outrage over the mass shooting at a school in Uvalde, Texas that killed at least 18 children and two adults.

Speaking to the media in Dallas ahead of Game 4 of the Western Conference finals against the Mavericks, he said he was not going to talk about his team during the press conference, because “any basketball questions don’t matter.

Kerr began by referencing the shooting that took place 400 miles from the game arena and other mass murders that have taken place recently. Hitting the table with his hand, he angrily asked, “When are we gonna do something?”

Steve Kerr has had enough

He said he was tired of giving condolences and of holding moments of silence to honor devastated families who have lost their loved ones in these tragedies. He instead called on senators to act on laws that would deal with gun violence.

“Are you going to put your own desire for power ahead of the lives of our children and our elderly and our churchgoers? Because that’s what it looks like,” said Kerr.

He also urged the audience not to be numb to these violent situations, and instead think about how they would feel if members of their own families were victimized by these shootings.
