NBA postseason action is well underway, with teams fighting it out in the Play-In Tournament for the last places of the main playoff brackets. Here are the teams that have the biggest number of games at the playoffs.

Los Angeles Lakers: Former playoff staple

The team with the most disappointing performance of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers, are the ones who hold the record for the most games played by a team in the playoffs. The Lakers were one of the favorites to win the NBA trophy, but were shockingly knocked out of contention from the 2021-22 Play-In Tournament.

The Lakers have had 61 playoff appearances, with a total of 761 games played. Their erstwhile rival, the Boston Celtics are in second place, making the playoffs 57 times out of the 71 seasons they’ve been in the NBA, playing a total of 675 games.

The streak of the Sixers and the Spurs

According to Statmuse, the Philadelphia 76ers are a far third in terms of number of playoff games with 459. The San Antonio Spurs are at fourth with a total of 403 games. These two teams share the NBA record for highest number of consecutive playoff appearances at 22.

The 76ers had their run from the 1950 to the 1971 playoffs, during which they won two NBA championships. The Spurs had their streak from 1997 to 2019, during which they won five trophies.

Rounding out the top five in terms of most playoff games are the New York Knicks who have a total of 380 playoff games,

The Atlanta Hawks have had 379 playoff games, the Detroit Pistons 370, the Golden State Warriors have 349, the Chicago Bulls tallied 344, while the Oklahoma City Thunder stand at 331.
