Once more, Kyrie Irving is the center of controversy. This time the now Mavericks guard claims the Nets did not respect him. Kyrie feels that he was tolerated.

Kyrie can’t steer away from the media and all the fuss about his life personally and professionally; this time, the Nets are on the receiving end.

What did Kyrie Irving say about the Brooklyn Nets?

The guard was clear about how he felt at Brooklyn, “I just know I wanna be places where I’m celebrated and not just tolerated or just dealt with in a way that doesn’t make me feel respected. There were times throughout this process when I was in Brooklyn where I felt very disrespected.”

He was also asked why he deleted the apology messages he had posted on his Instagram regarding the backlash he received for his support of what was believed to be an antisemite film.

What has Kyrie Irving said about deleting the apology messages?

Kyrie Irving refused to apologize after he was shamed for sharing the anti-Semitic documentary on social media. The Brooklyn Nets ordered him to take a seat after he refused to back down during repeated media appearances. Later he posted an Instagram apology. After serving his suspension.

Kyrie apparently deleted the messages on January 20th, which many believe indicated his desire to leave the Nets this trade window.

When asked at the presentation news conference of his new team about why he deleted the apology messages, the guard said, “I delete a lot of things on my Instagram. I’ve had things that have happened before in my life, probably not as drastic as that moment, which led to a lot of confusion and uncertainty about what I meant and what I stand for. I had to sit up in front of these mikes and explain to the world who I am and I know who I am. I delete things all the time and it’s no disrespect to anyone in the community. Just living my life.
