Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry revealed why he got heated during last year’s NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics’ fans.

The 34-year-old had one of the greatest performances in NBA Finals history in game four against Boston where he single-handedly won that game down the stretch for the Warriors.

But after hitting a big three early in the first quarter, Curry yelled at the Boston crowd in a rather rare sight, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Old Man and The Three Podcast, the Warriors star talked about what he said to Bostons fans after that first quarter three:

“I hit that one shot and I started yelling at the crowd,” he said. “I was like, ‘This is gonna be a different motherf--king game.’ I said that.”

Curry then jokingly said his mom was not fond of his word choice then, but there was a whole other level of emotion going into that game. Besides the increased pressure, and the constant doubting of the Warriors at the time, the hostile Celtics’ crowd seemed to be dictating how each play was going to be played, and that simply brought the best out of Curry.

Early enough, the four-time NBA champion let the Celtics crowd know this game belongs to the Warriors, and surely he delivered.

The Golden State ended up winning their fourth title in the last eight years, and the rest is history.
